Drills & Exercises
In order to ensure that our equipment is always readily available and in excellent working condition, Oceancare Ltd organises frequent drills, mobilising all equipment and designating oil spill crews at strategic locations around the island. Under the supervision of Transport Malta officials, the outcome of each exercise is then discussed in detail, and any issues are rectified.
Furthermore, we participate in MALTEX national oil pollution simulation exercises organised by Transport Malta in collaboration with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA).
During these exercises our employees get the opportunity to train for the eventuality of a real spill, testing both the communication systems, the equipment and to make sure all roles and responsibilities of the personnel.
