Safeguarding
Our Seas
Safeguarding our seas is a priority for Oceancare. We currently have over 40 fully trained and qualified personnel and have invested heavily in equipment to be prepared to tackle any sea pollution.
Quick Response
In case of an oil spill situation at sea, every minute counts. Oceancare has invested in state-of-the-art equipment which reduced deployment time. The company has identified strategic locations around the two main ports and has stationed boom reels in order to be readily available when needed. These stations are manned 24/7. Oceancare has also invested in quick deployment offshore booms which reduced deployment time – the time taken to inflate and begin using the booms – to 14 minutes. Once an oil patch is surrounded by these booms the operation for the collection of oil can begin through skimmers, vacuum pumps or other specialised equipment.
